The Power of Entrepreneurship and Innovation
“Risk more than others think is safe. Dream more than others think is practical.” - Howard Schultz, CEO of Starbucks.
Entrepreneurship is defined as the capacity and willingness to develop, organize and manage a business venture along with any of its risks in order to make a profit. Innovation is defined as making changes in something established, especially by introducing new methods, ideas, or products. Together, entrepreneurship and innovation are two concepts that take creativity, hard work, perseverance, and support. Often, these concepts are not introduced to students. Many believe that entrepreneurship is a concept only open to those in the traditional business world but some of the most successful entrepreneurs in the world were far from traditional business people. Introducing the idea that entrepreneurship and innovation can come from anywhere and can positively impact the world is a positive one we can see more of in our schools. Launchpad's mission is to provide a platform for 8th grade students in Indianapolis to learn and test out the concept of entrepreneurship and innovative thinking and illustrate to them that they have limitless possibilities for their future.
